Singing in the Rain

I recently purchased a 50 mm 1.8 lens and was so exited to try it out. The other night it poured rain for a while, so my hubby and I sat out under the porch while our daughter played in the rain and I, of course, tried out the new lens. Needless to say, I'm in love! It's a GREAT lens for starting out and the cost is very reasonable!

"Nostalgia"

I Heart Faces challenge this week: Nostalgia

Some of my best memories of childhood are when my Mom and Dad would take time out of their busy schedule to take all of us kids--9 of us--to the state park right by our house. We would Rollerblade or ride our bikes and when we got there, do what any kid loves. Run along the beach, play in the sand, slide and swing.
This picture of my daughter takes me back to those precious memories of being at the park with Mom and Dad, enjoying a little family time. I miss those carefree days but I'm glad that I have a chance to recreate them for my kids now that I'm a Mom!

Maternity session--Done! :)

I had so much fun with this shoot. :) Ryan and Jane were a lot of fun, did anything I asked and we ended up with some shots that I L-O-V-E!!! Enjoy!

Probably my favorite! :)

So the tape measure is upside down on purpose...we do not all need to know how round the belly is getting :). She was a great sport about this! lol (I'm 8.5 months...I don't want you knowing my measurements either! :)
In LOVE with the next 2!

This is my favorite picture so far of the session that I did on Saturday. I'm still working on them but wanted to share this since I LOVE IT! There are a lot more that I love too so I promise that they are coming soon--I may do them in a few posts.

The Rest

This photo shoot was so sweet. One of my main purposes in photography is NOT to get that stiff- posed- does everyone look perfect-fake smile-photograph. Instead I want something that reflects who the people really are, an image that shows their personalities.
The thing that stuck out to me about Melissa and her children the most was the love that they share for each other. While I was there there was a lot of kissing, hugging and sweet moments that I observed. Yes, there was some chaos as is to be expected, but those precious moments are what I came away thinking about and will never forget.
Melissa I know you've had a rough time--just keep up the good work and know that you are doing a great job! Your love for your children made such an impression on me! Thank you!
Enjoy!

He LOVES his little brother! There were so many kisses going on here! Too sweet.
Such a handsome little man!

Baby Details ;)
Wavy light brown hair! I loved it.

Here she was singing to him to help him stop crying

Check out those gorgeous eyes

This one was lots of fun :)

Yummy-- Preview

What is it about babies that makes you want to eat them? The sweet innocence? The new baby smell, maybe, or the buttery soft skin? (Can you tell I'm just weeks away from having my own little one and VERY ready!!!)
Either way, this little guy was no exception. He was so good, letting me put him in any position possible and not making a peep most of the time. And the curly brown hair! How can you not love it! Here's a little sneak peek! The rest should be up in a few days. Also, keep him in your prayers as he had to be admitted to the hospital for not gaining weight like he should. :(

Little Angel

In my opinion, children are the hardest subjects to photograph. I want to capture them in their element, doing what they do best--running, playing, enjoying life to the fullest. Of course, some nice pretty smiles don't hurt either!
This little 3 year old made my job a breeze! Twirling, jumping, running; I was able to get it all. And this 8 month pregnant mama got a good work out following her around for an hour too :).

Pretty Little Poser :)

My Favorite!

Who doesn't love a twirling little girl in a beautiful dress with bare feet???!!!

It can't be all smiles...I am 3 you know! :) lol

See...she made my job so easy. Isn't she ADORABLE??!!
